Character Design

This artwork features original characters from personal projects and RPG campaigns. All illustrations were drawn in Procreate.

Teeth Webcomic

Premise: A small group of urban fantasy monsters on a remote chain of islands near Nova Scotia must balance peacekeeping between different monster clans with preventing the rise of an elder god.

This project originated as an RPG campaign, drawings from which can be seen in the RPG illustrations gallery. At one point, a fellow campaign member and I planned to create a webcomic based on the campaign, with myself as the illustrator. The project was ultimately tabled, but my (very rough) work on character redesigns remains.

Tui

A vampire with a penchant for ‘90s fashion struggling with their membership to an antagonistic House ruled by a conniving Prince. They would be the main character of the comic and would gradually learn how to be a leader of their monster team.

Ronan

A selkie with a troubled past and shady mentor, navigating the ethics of her thaumaturgy-based magic, her obsessive rule-following, and a budding love triangle. (Ronan was my character.) Over the course of the story, she learns to trust others, banishes her mentor, and makes peace with Teddy.

Ethniu

A goat-headed Fomorian brawler whose love of Her Dark Mother the Sea is rivaled only by her love of beer. Her unionization efforts during the story lead to better worker protections for her marginalized species and representation within the monster government.

Teddy

An agile Tailypo (cat-creature of American myth) with a hatred of thaumaturgy, a knack for petty crime, and a beloved sweater, seeking out other members of his rare species. His story revolved around a romance with Cidthereon, reconciling betrayal in his backstory, and becoming a selfless member of the team rather than a perpetual loner.

Other Major Characters

Samil: A sweet, cinnamon-roll gorgon. One of Ronan’s love interests.
Saud: A vampire warrior entranced by mirrors. Tui’s eventual love interest and their one ally within the House.
Cidthereon: A fae lawyer and Teddy’s love interest.
Shauna: A power-stealing fae with a grudge. One of Ronan’s love interests.

Side Characters

Sonya: A merfolk union organizer and general rabble-rouser. Her human glamour doesn’t conceal those piscine needle teeth.
Park Yoon: A selkie sea captain with an eye condition that requires her to wear water-filled goggles.
Bar: A nerdy werewolverine who betrays his clan to help the Teeth team prevent a hostile takeover.
Silver Charm: A pixie librarian with a love for silver jewelry. Teleports from place to place via phone microphone.
Spark: An optimistic fire spirit officially known as The Spark That Lights The Autumn Flame, but you can just call her Spark.
Tsai Chieng-Ming: A formidable seraph with a dark secret. General of the monster peacekeeping organization.

Salt Campaign

Toxic pink salt streaks the sky of an original world in which inhabitants tame giant insects and mushroom forests ramble across land carved by dangerous fjords. See campaign art here.

Sorrel Lam: A druid who travels the hazardous terrain to bring news and mail between remote towns, accompanied by her bioluminescent pet moth, Lepi.

T&T Campaign

Two outcasts, Tristan and Tal, fight the corrupt, authoritarian BrightLine Corporation that has wronged them both as they slowly fall in love and learn to trust. See campaign art here.

Tal: Talon Dracoria Tanwen Devlin Blaze Braxton, but don’t you dare call her that—her name is Tal. A dragonfolk fleeing her abusive adoptive parents and BrightLine’s plans to vivisect her. Keen for fashion and dance; on a quest to find for her draconic heritage and identity.
Tristan: A broody human experimented on and augmented against their will by a manipulative BrightLine scientist to have corrosive energy powers. Bad at talking about their feelings or admitting that they like wearing dresses; excellent at baseball.

Paleda Campaign

A fantasy city teetering on the edge of the industrial revolution has brought together a ragtag special ops team to infiltrate the powerful crime ring threatening to topple the government.

Ben & the Arbalest: A drawing that ships the relentlessly cheery and gratingly optimistic PC Ben Mythis with the grim and brooding Arbalest from Darkest Dungeon. Drawn in the Darkest Dungeon art style.
Mad Max: Three original characters from a manuscript set in the campaign's universe… if they were in Mad Max: Fury Road.
