Character Design
This character design document was created as a practice project for an imaginary urban fantasy RPG in the vein of Fallout or Mass Effect. It details the personality, appearance, barks, and other characteristics of potential party member Ronan Rill. Ronan, a selkie, is based on a character from a TTRPG campaign.
Item Descriptions
Here are two sets of item descriptions, the first in the silly, humorous style of Donut County’s Trashopedia and the second in a more grim, serious tone a la Dark Souls or Magic: The Gathering. Both were done as practice exercises. I am not affiliated with any of the IPs mentioned.
Combat Barks
A sheet of combat barks written for an imaginary fantasy RPG inspired by Dragon Age. The barks are intended to succinctly communicate each character's personality while demonstrating the battle's progression and conveying the tension of combat.
Branching Conversation
This is an excerpt of my Twine story Matrimony. It is intended to convey exposition, execute a dramatic reveal, and develop the characters' relationship based on player choices. The player can destroy the relationship, maintain it, or enter into a romance over the course of the scene. Password: sample-convo
Dialogue Scene
This is a conversation between the main character and an NPC in Ashes of Tethia. It is intended to convey plot-relevant exposition in an entertaining manner using distinct character voices, contain both humorous and serious content, and minimize the need for character animation in game.
Prose
This is the first chapter of my senior thesis, a fantasy mystery story set in a steampunk-Western alternate universe. In it, I set up the characters, stakes, and foundational elements of the setting, such as the town of Blund’s Pass and the radiance, a mystical energy source.
